Car
If you are driving from Mongar, take the road leading north towards Lhuntse. The distance is approximately 60 km and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on road conditions. Follow the signs for Lhuntse. Upon reaching Lhuntse town, continue following the main road; you will see signs directing you to Lhuentse Dzong. The Dzong is located on a hilltop overlooking the town, and there is a parking area available nearby.
Public Transportation
From Mongar, you can take a local bus heading to Lhuntse. Buses leave regularly from the Mongar bus station and the journey takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. Make sure to inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Lhuntse. Once you arrive in Lhuntse, you can either walk to the Dzong (about a 30-minute walk uphill) or hire a local taxi for a short ride to the Dzong entrance. Expect to pay around 300-500 Ngultrum for the taxi.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Mongar to Lhuentse Dzong. This option costs approximately 1500-2000 Ngultrum for a one-way trip. The taxi will take you directly to the Dzong, and you can arrange for the driver to wait for you while you explore the area.
