Getting There

Walking
From the center of Mongar, head east on the main road (Bumthang-Mongar Highway). Continue walking for about 2 km until you reach the junction at Yadi. At this junction, take the left turn towards Jakar. After about 5 km, you will see a sign pointing towards Nyimalung Monastery. Follow this road, which will lead you through beautiful countryside. The monastery is located approximately 1 km further up this road. Look for the path leading up to the monastery on your left.

From the main bus station in Mongar, take a local bus heading towards Jakar. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Inform the bus driver of your destination, Nyimalung Monastery, and they will drop you off at the closest point. Once you get off, follow the sign towards the monastery, which is about a 15-minute walk uphill from the bus drop-off point.
