Chumphu Nye: A Serene Buddhist Sanctuary

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, begin your journey from Paro town. Head east on the main road towards the airport. After approximately 6 km, you will see the signs for Chumphu Nye. Turn left onto the dirt road, which leads to a small parking area. Note that the last part of the road may require careful navigation due to its uneven surface. The parking area is close to the entrance of Chumphu Nye, which is about a 10-minute walk from the parking lot.

• Taxi

  For those without a car, hiring a taxi is a convenient option. From Paro town, you can request a taxi directly to Chumphu Nye. The journey will take around 15 minutes depending on traffic and costs approximately 300-500 Ngultrum. Make sure to agree on the fare beforehand. The taxi can drop you off at the parking area, and then it is about a 10-minute walk to the temple.

• Public Transportation

  Using public transportation, you can take a local bus from Paro town heading toward the airport. Inform the driver of your destination, Chumphu Nye, and they will drop you off at the closest point, which is approximately 1 km away from the site. From there, you will need to walk on a dirt path leading to the temple. The bus fare is typically around 20 Ngultrum. Be aware that bus schedules may vary, and it's good to check the timings in advance.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and are staying nearby, you can also walk to Chumphu Nye from Paro town. The walk will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Head east toward the airport along the main road, and follow the signs to Chumphu Nye as you approach the area. The path may not be well marked, so having a map or GPS on hand is advisable.
