Getting There

Continue for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction near Gelephu. At the junction, take a left turn onto the road leading to Dochula. Follow this road for about 30 kilometers, which will take you through scenic views of the Himalayan foothills. Druk Wangyel Monastery will be located on your right, at the coordinates FPRX+G3G, Dochula. Make sure to park in designated areas near the monastery.

  For those using public transportation, start by taking a local bus or shared taxi from Sarpang to Gelephu. Buses and taxis typically leave from the main bus station in Sarpang. Once you reach Gelephu, you will need to switch to a local taxi or a bus that operates towards Dochula. Inform the driver of your destination, Druk Wangyel Monastery. The total journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on waiting times for transport. Ensure to check the local bus schedules for the return trip, as they may have limited service.

  For the adventurous, biking or walking to Druk Wangyel Monastery is an option, though it requires good physical fitness. You can bike from Sarpang along the NH8 towards Gelephu, then follow the same route to Dochula. It is approximately a 50-kilometer journey and would take several hours. Alternatively, you can take a local bus to Dochula and then walk the final stretch to the monastery, enjoying the natural beauty along the way.
