From Tashiyangtse, head southwest on the main road towards the town of Kanglung. Continue driving for approximately 18 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road. Take the right fork towards the Sangaygang area and follow the signposts towards Sungester Lake. The road may become narrower and winding as you get closer, but keep going for another 10 kilometers. You will eventually see signs for Sungester Lake. There is parking available near the lake.

Start at the Tashiyangtse bus station and look for a local shared taxi or minibus heading towards Kanglung. The fare should be around 50-100 Ngultrum. After getting off at Kanglung, you may need to hire a local taxi to take you to Sungester Lake, which should cost between 300-500 Ngultrum depending on negotiation. The drive from Kanglung to Sungester Lake is approximately 10 kilometers and will take about 20-30 minutes.
