    Getting There

    Car

    If you're traveling by car from Trashigang, head west on the main road (Drukgyel Highway) towards the village of Chali. After approximately 15 km, you’ll see a small sign for Bongbu on the right. Turn onto the dirt road that leads towards Bongbu. Drive carefully as the road can be rough and narrow. After about 5 km, you will reach a parking area near the waterfall. From there, it is a short 10-minute hike to the base of Bongbu re Waterfall.

    Public Transportation

    To reach Bongbu re Waterfall via public transport, take a local bus or shared taxi from Trashigang to Chali. The journey will take around 30 minutes, and buses typically leave every hour. Once you arrive at Chali, you will need to arrange for a local taxi or hitchhike to reach the Bongbu area. The taxi ride will cost approximately 200-300 Ngultrum and take about 15 minutes. After reaching the drop-off point, it’s a 10-minute hike to the waterfall.

    Hiking

    For the more adventurous, you can hike from Chali to Bongbu re Waterfall. This hike is approximately 5 km and can take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your fitness level. Start from Chali and follow the trail that leads towards Bongbu. The path is well-trodden but can be steep in places, so good hiking shoes are recommended. Make sure to carry water and snacks.
