Car

If you are traveling by car from Tsirang town, head east on the Tsirang-Phuentsholing Highway (NH 2). Continue on this road for about 12 kilometers until you reach the junction to the Phobjikha Valley. Turn left onto the road towards Phobjikha Valley and drive for approximately 30 kilometers. Follow the signs for Gangtey Monastery. The monastery will be located on your right as you approach the Phobjikha Valley. The drive should take about 1 hour in total, depending on road conditions.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from Tsirang to Wangdue Phodrang, which is the nearest major town to Phobjikha Valley. Buses run regularly and the trip will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Wangdue Phodrang, you will need to hire a taxi or find a local shared taxi heading towards Phobjikha Valley. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes to reach Gangtey Monastery. Be sure to confirm the fare with the taxi driver beforehand, as it can vary.
