  • Walking from Wangdue Phodrang Town Center

    Start at the Wangdue Phodrang Town Center. Head south on the main road towards the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. Continue walking for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the intersection near the dzong. From there, take a left towards the Wangdue Phodrang River. After crossing the bridge, follow the path along the river bank for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the foot of the hill where the National Memorial Chhorten is located. Ascend the hill for about 10 minutes to reach the chorten.

  • Walking from the Wangdue Phodrang Bus Station

    From the Wangdue Phodrang Bus Station, exit and take the main road heading south. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. At the dzong, turn left and continue towards the river. Cross the bridge and follow the river trail for approximately 30 minutes. As you approach the hill, begin ascending for about 10 minutes to reach the National Memorial Chhorten.

    If you are coming from Rincheling village, start by heading south through the village road. After approximately 15 minutes of walking, you will connect to the main road. Follow the main road towards Wangdue Phodrang for about 20 minutes. When you see the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, take a left turn and head towards the river. After crossing the river, follow the path along the river bank until you reach the foot of the hill leading to the National Memorial Chhorten. Ascend for about 10 minutes to reach the chorten.
