    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Phuentsholing, Bhutan. Head east towards the Bhutan-India border and cross into India at the Jaigaon entry point. Once in Jaigaon, follow the signs for Alipurduar. After approximately 30 km on NH 27, you will reach Alipurduar town. Continue on the same highway and take the left fork towards the Buxa Tiger Reserve. Follow the local roads for about 10 km until you reach the entrance of Buxa Tiger Reserve.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From Phuentsholing, take a local bus to Alipurduar. Buses are available at regular intervals and the journey takes roughly 2 hours. Once in Alipurduar, you can hire a rickshaw or a local taxi to take you to the Buxa Tiger Reserve entrance, which is around 10 km away. Ensure you have some cash for the taxi fare, which can range from INR 200 to INR 400.

  • Public Transport - Shared Taxi

    For a faster option, consider taking a shared taxi from Phuentsholing to Alipurduar. These taxis leave when full and generally cost more than the bus (around INR 300-500). Once in Alipurduar, take another shared taxi or rickshaw to Buxa Tiger Reserve for around INR 100-200. Make sure to check the timing of the last taxi back to Phuentsholing to avoid getting stranded.
