Car
If you're driving from Uyuni, head east on Route 30 towards Colchani. Continue for approximately 25 kilometers until you reach the town of Colchani. Once in Colchani, follow the signs towards the Dakar Monument which is located at MX94+X2J. You will see the monument from the main road, so it should be easy to find. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for high-altitude driving.
Public Transportation
To reach the Dakar Monument via public transportation, take a colectivo (shared taxi) from the main plaza in Uyuni to Colchani. The fare is usually around 10-15 Bolivianos. Once you arrive in Colchani, ask the driver or locals for directions to the Dakar Monument, which is roughly a 10-minute walk from the town center. Look for signage; the monument is visible from the main road.
Walking
If you are already in Colchani, you can walk to the Dakar Monument. From the central plaza, head north on Av. 6 de Agosto, then take a right onto the dirt road after about 500 meters. Follow the road for approximately 2 kilometers; the monument will be on your left. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, as the altitude can be challenging.
