    Stećci kod Muzeja is located at Zmaja od Bosne 3, next to the National Museum. From the city center, such as the Eternal Flame monument, walk west along Maršala Tita street. Continue onto Zmaja od Bosne street. The Stećci will be on your left, next to the National Museum. The walk is approximately 15-20 minutes.

    From Baščaršija, take tram line 3 towards Ilidža. Get off at the National Museum stop. The Stećci will be located next to the museum. A single tram ticket costs 1.60 KM if purchased at a kiosk or 1.80 KM from the driver.

Stećci kod Muzeja is a captivating historical landmark situated adjacent to the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. This site displays a collection of stećci, unique medieval tombstones that are a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage. These stones, with their intricate carvings and historical significance, have earned recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The stećci represent a shared cultural heritage of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The tombstones on display originate from various locations across the country, including Bobovac, Jajce, and Mostar. The collection is arranged to reflect the geographical origins of the monuments, with stones from Herzegovina on the north side of the garden and those from Bosnia on the south. A third group of ten monuments is located on the green area to the left of the main entrance to the National Museum. These medieval tombstones date back to the 12th-16th centuries, with the peak of their creation occurring in the 14th and 15th centuries. They were used by members of the Bosnian Church, Catholics, and Orthodox Christians, as well as by both Slavic and Vlach populations. The stećci are made mostly of limestone, with some weighing over 29 tons.
