To reach Mashatu Game Reserve by road, travelers typically drive from Johannesburg, South Africa, a journey of approximately 6.5 hours. The route leads to the Pont Drift Border Post, where you'll cross the Limpopo River into Botswana. If the river is not in flood, you can drive through it; otherwise, a cable car is available. After clearing customs and immigration, a guide will meet you and drive you to your accommodation within the reserve. Keep in mind border crossing times are typically 8 AM to 4 PM. It's advisable to confirm the current status of the Limpopo River crossing before your trip.
