Helicopter Horizons: Soaring Above the Okavango Delta

Getting There

• Walking

  Helicopter Horizons is located on Mathiba I Street in Maun. From most points in central Maun, it is easily accessible by foot. Walking from the Maun Airport (MUB) takes approximately 25-30 minutes. Head east on Sir Seretse Khama Rd toward Tsheko Tsheko Rd, then turn left onto Tsheko Tsheko Rd, turn right onto Airport Rd, turn left onto Sedie Rd, turn right onto Mathiba I St, and Helicopter Horizons will be on your right. There are sidewalks along most of the route. Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available in Maun.

• Public Transport

  Public transport options in Maun primarily consist of shared taxis and minibuses. To reach Helicopter Horizons using public transportation, first make your way to the nearest village or camp that has a transport service to Maun. From there, you can catch a shared taxi or minibus heading to Maun. The fare is typically around 50-100 BWP (Botswana Pula) per person. Once you arrive in Maun, ask the driver to drop you off at Mathiba I Street. Helicopter Horizons is a short walk from the minibus drop-off point.

• Car

  If driving to Helicopter Horizons, follow signs to Mathiba I Street in Maun. From within Moremi Game Reserve, head towards the South Gate and exit the reserve. Once you are on the main road (A3), drive towards Maun. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on road conditions. Once you reach Maun, follow the signs to Mathiba I Street. Helicopter Horizons is located at Mathiba I Street, near the center of Maun. Make sure to have enough fuel for your trip, as fuel stations are limited inside the reserve.
