The most common way to access Kwara Reserve is by flying into Maun Airport (MUB), the gateway to the Okavango Delta. From Maun, a light aircraft transfer (approximately 30 minutes) will take you to the Kwara Airstrip. This flight offers a stunning aerial view of the delta. The Kwara Airstrip is roughly a 10-15 minute drive from the camps. These flights can be booked through your tour operator or the safari camps within the reserve. Expect to pay between $200-$400 USD per person for a round-trip flight from Maun to the Kwara Airstrip.

Self-Drive (Not Recommended)
While theoretically possible, self-driving to Kwara Reserve is highly discouraged due to the challenging terrain and the risk of getting lost. The roads are often unpaved and require a 4x4 vehicle. If attempting to drive, head northwest from Maun on the A3 road, then take the Boro Road. The journey can take several hours, and it's essential to have GPS navigation and experience driving in remote areas. Contact Kwando Safaris for advice. Entrance fees may apply, ranging from P100 to P300. Note that self-drive access may not be permitted.
