Getting There

• Car

  From Maun, head northwest on the A3 road. Continue on the A3 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach a junction. At this junction, take the left fork onto the Boro Road. Follow the Boro Road for about 15 kilometers until you reach the entrance to the Kwara Reserve. Note that the road may become unpaved as you near the reserve, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Be prepared for potential entrance fees at the reserve, which typically range from P100 to P300 depending on the type of visit.

• Public Transportation

  From Maun, you can take a shared taxi ('kombi') heading toward the Okavango Delta. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for the Boro Road. The taxi fare will usually cost around P50. From the junction, you will need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a 4x4 vehicle to take you the remaining 15 kilometers to the Kwara Reserve entrance. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, as it may cost between P200 to P400 depending on the driver.

  Consider booking a guided tour from Maun that includes transportation to the Kwara Reserve. Many tour operators provide packages that include a vehicle, guide, and sometimes meals. Prices for these tours can vary widely, typically ranging from P1,500 to P3,000 per person, depending on the inclusions and duration of the tour.
