Delta Camp, located on the southwestern edge of Chief's Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta, offers a unique and immersive safari experience. Accessible by light aircraft and a traditional mokoro ride, the camp provides an escape into a pristine wilderness. Delta Camp distinguishes itself by offering only walking safaris and mokoro excursions, forgoing motorized activities to maintain tranquility and minimize environmental impact. Knowledgeable guides, often locals with lifelong experience in the Delta, lead guests through the waterways and islands, sharing their expertise in tracking animals and understanding the ecosystem. These guides transport visitors deep into the Okavango using only handmade dug-out canoes (mekoro). The camp itself is constructed from locally sourced reed and grass, blending seamlessly into the natural surroundings. Chalets are elevated off the forest floor and designed to incorporate the existing trees, offering guests a unique connection with the environment. Solar power provides electricity, and efforts are made to minimize the camp's footprint. Delta Camp accommodates a maximum of 18 guests in spacious chalets with en-suite bathrooms. The camp welcomes families and offers a cultural experience by arranging visits to local villages. Guests can enjoy meals in the dining room overlooking the Delta, with opportunities for private dinners under the stars. Extended camping expeditions into the Okavango's remote areas can also be arranged.
