Public Transport

From anywhere in Brasília, take a bus or metro to the Central Bus Station (Estação Rodoviária). From the bus station, the Planetário de Brasília is a short walk towards the TV Tower and Convention Center, following signs for the Setor de Difusão Cultural. The bus fare is approximately R$5.54.
Taxi/Ride-share

Use a taxi or ride-sharing service (Uber, 99) and input 'Planetário de Brasília' or 'SDC - Brasília' as your destination. The planetarium is located on the Eixo Monumental, near the TV Tower and the Mané Garrincha Stadium. A short trip from the city center will likely cost between R$15-R$30, depending on traffic and distance.
Walking

If you are near the Monumental Axis, such as the TV Tower or the Convention Center, you can easily walk to the Planetário de Brasília. Follow the signs for the Setor de Difusão Cultural. The walk is generally flat and takes about 10-15 minutes from the TV Tower.

The Planetário de Brasília, also known as the Planetário Luiz Cruls, is more than just a planetarium; it's a portal to the cosmos located in the heart of Brazil's capital. Inaugurated on March 15, 1974, the building itself is an architectural marvel, designed by Sérgio Bernandes in the Brutalist style, resembling a flying saucer landed on the Monumental Axis. Inside, visitors can explore the wonders of the universe through a variety of shows and exhibits. The planetarium features a state-of-the-art projection system, the Power Dome VIII, that brings the night sky to life, offering stunning visuals and educational presentations. Exhibits showcase the solar system, the Brazilian Space Agency, and telescopes, offering a comprehensive introduction to astronomy. The Planetário de Brasília also has a rich history. Although opened in 1974, it was closed in 2006 for extensive renovations and reopened in 2013. Today, it continues to serve as a vital center for science education and tourism, hosting programs, exhibitions and events that popularize astronomy among people of all ages. The planetarium is located in the Setor de Difusão Cultural (SDC) on the Monumental Axis, near other important landmarks such as the Brasília TV Tower and the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center.
