Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center: Brasília's Event Hub

The Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center (Centro de Convenções Ulysses Guimarães) is a prominent convention center in Brasília, serving as a dynamic hub for cultural and business events. Designed by Sérgio Bernardes in 1973 and inaugurated in 1979, the center was renovated in 2005 and renamed in 1992 to honor Ulysses Guimarães. It is part of Brasília's Cultural Diffusion Sector, situated on the Monumental Axis, alongside other cultural landmarks like the Brasília Planetarium and the Brasília Choro Club. The convention center is divided into three wings: West, South, and North. The West Wing features the original design by Sérgio Bernardes and includes four auditoriums: Alvorada, Planalto, Águas Claras, and Buriti. The South Wing offers a large, air-conditioned space for exhibitions and fairs. The North Wing houses the Master Auditorium, which can accommodate over 3,000 people, as well as modular rooms, a multipurpose area, and support facilities.
