From the city center of Ubajara, taxis and 'mototaxis' (motorcycle taxis) are readily available to take you to Gruta de Ubajara, approximately 10 km away. A taxi fare typically costs between R$20 to R$30, but negotiation is common. Ensure the driver knows you wish to go to the entrance of Ubajara National Park.
Walking
For those nearby and preferring a physical challenge, a 10 km hike from the center of Ubajara to Gruta de Ubajara is possible, taking around 2 to 2.5 hours. Follow the CE-187 road, ensuring you have proper footwear and sufficient water. Be aware that the path can be challenging.
Public Transport
To reach Ubajara by public transport, take a bus from Crateús to Ubajara. Buses run regularly, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Upon arrival in Ubajara, hire a taxi or 'mototaxi' to cover the remaining 10 km to Gruta de Ubajara. The taxi fare should be around R$20-R$30, subject to negotiation. Note: Bus travel from Fortaleza to Ubajara is approximately 6 hours. From the Ubajara bus terminal, taxis are available.
