Mammals like pacas, armadillos, and sloths inhabit the forests, while reptiles such as jararacas and coral snakes can also be found. Key attractions within the reserve include the Saco do Mamanguá, a tropical fjord-like inlet with numerous small beaches, rivers, and a mangrove.
