From Cavalcante, the route includes a stretch on GO-241, followed by a turn onto a dirt road leading to the Kalunga Engenho II village. A guide is mandatory and can be hired at the Tourist Service Center (CAT) in the village. From the CAT, it's another 4 km on a dirt road to the trailhead. The trail is approximately 5 km long, with some rocky and steep sections. Cachoeira Candaru is ideal to combine with visits to other nearby attractions such as Cachoeira Santa Bárbara and Cachoeira da Capivara.
