To access Trilha dos Abreus, it is necessary to obtain a park pass and make a reservation at the ICMBio. This can be done in person at the ICMBio / TAMAR Visitor Centre in Vila do Boldró. It is recommended to make the reservation on your first day on the island, as the trails can be booked up to 6 days in advance and each visitor can only book for a maximum of 6 people.

    Getting There

    Public Transport

    From Vila dos Remédios, take the local bus towards Praia do Sueste. Get off at the Sueste bus stop and follow the dirt road to the left for approximately 1.1 km until you reach the trailhead. The bus fare is around R$5.00. Be prepared for a 15-20 minute walk from the bus stop to the trail entrance.

    Taxi/Ride-Sharing

    Take a taxi from Vila dos Remédios directly to the Trilha dos Abreus trailhead. The taxi ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Expect to pay around R$40-R$50 for the trip. Arrange a pickup time with the driver, as taxis may not be readily available at the trailhead for your return.

    Walking

    From Praia do Sueste, walk along the dirt road to the left for approximately 1.1 km until you reach the trailhead. The walk is relatively flat and should take around 20 minutes. This option is only feasible if you are already in the Sueste area.
