    Public Transport

    From Rio de Janeiro, take a ferry from Praça XV to the Arariboia ferry station in Niterói. Ferries depart every 20-30 minutes on weekdays and hourly on Sundays. The ferry fare is approximately R$6.30. Upon arriving at the Arariboia station, walk left for about 10 minutes to the bus depot. Take bus number 38 (direction Itaipu). The bus fare is approximately R$3.90. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Get off the bus after it circles a small, blue police station on a roundabout, then walk back along Rua Matia Sandri for about 10 minutes to reach the beach.

    From the Charitas ferry terminal in Niterói, a taxi to Itacoatiara Beach typically costs between R$60-R$80 and takes approximately 34 minutes. Taxis are readily available outside the ferry terminal. Alternatively, a direct taxi from Rio de Janeiro to Itacoatiara costs between R$150-R$190 and takes around 38 minutes.

    From Rio de Janeiro, drive across the Rio-Niterói bridge. The bridge toll is approximately R$20-R$30. Continue on to Niterói and follow signs to Itacoatiara. Parking is available near the beach, but spaces are limited, especially on weekends. Paid parking is available at the entrance, and street parking is also an option. Arrive early to secure a spot.
