Getting There

  • Driving

    From São Roque de Minas, take the dirt road towards São José do Barreiro. Follow the signs to Parque Nacional da Serra da Canastra - Portaria 4. The road is unpaved and can be challenging, especially during the rainy season. Drive carefully and allow extra time for the journey. There is no entrance fee to the park. Parking is available near the entrance to the trail.

  • Walking

    From the park entrance, follow the well-marked Trilha Casca D'Anta (Baixo). The trail is approximately 1.5 km long and takes around 30-45 minutes to hike. The trail is mostly flat with some rocky sections. Watch your step and wear appropriate footwear. The trail ends at a viewpoint overlooking the Casca D'Anta Waterfall. There are no costs associated with walking the trail beyond the cost of transport to the park entrance.

The park is open from 8 am to 6 pm, and it’s important to arrive early enough to complete the trail and exit the park before closing. Camping is no longer allowed in the park.
