Canefield House: A Tortola Retreat

Canefield House, a beautifully presented and exceptionally well-maintained three-bedroom villa, is located on the peaceful Greenbank Estate overlooking Brewer's Bay in north-central Tortola. Occupying its own 10-acre plot approximately 850 feet above sea level, it was built during the early 1990s on land formerly used for sugar-cane cultivation – and it's from this that it derives its name. This favored position endows the house with truly stunning sea views, and even on the hottest days it benefits from welcome cooling breezes.The villa is comprised of three separate houses – Main, Master, and Guest, and a central pool and sunning deck. The houses are stepped down and across the face of the hillside and are connected by a network of tile walkways accentuated at every turn by flowering hibiscus of every hue, fuchsia and purple bougainvillea, red ginger, red and yellow heliconia, and yellow white alamanda. Below the houses, and on the slopes of the yard are fruit-bearing banana, coconut, grapefruit, key lime, mango, papaya, and passion fruit trees.Inside, the houses are each furnished in colorful tropical fabrics and rugs and finished with deep varnished tropical woods and brass fittings. All modern amenities, including internet and telephone access, are available in each of three bedroom suites, as well as in the complete audio and video entertainment center of the Main house. Canefield House is divided into separate pods, each connected beautifully by garden pathways. The villa has a gated entrance and is surrounded by beautifully decorated gardens. There is a grand staircase from the parking area that leads you to the two-storied Main House, where you will find the Great Room, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, and dining area for eight guests.
