Public Transport
From Cyril E. King Airport (STT), you can take the VITRAN bus to Charlotte Amalie. The bus stop is near the airport exit. VITRAN buses are blue and white with 'VITRAN' displayed. The fare is $1 per ride. Note that bus routes may require a short walk to reach specific destinations.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available at the Cyril E. King Airport (STT). Taxi rates are fixed per person based on the destination. A shared taxi from the airport to Charlotte Amalie costs approximately $15 per person. Private taxis are also available, with rates starting around $90 for up to 4 passengers to Red Hook. Confirm the rate with the driver before starting your trip.
Walking
In Charlotte Amalie, many attractions are within walking distance of the waterfront. From the ferry terminal or main shopping areas, you can easily walk to Fort Christian, Emancipation Garden, and the 99 Steps. Wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be hilly. Be aware of traffic, as vehicles drive on the left.
Parking
Parking is available in Charlotte Amalie at municipal lots. You can park for up to two hours for free. For all-day parking, use the HONK mobile app to purchase permits. Daily parking vouchers are available for $4. Be aware that parking outside the downtown core is limited to five hours.
