Getting there

By car

To reach Belogradchik Fortress by car, you will need to first head towards the town of Belogradchik in northwestern Bulgaria. From Sofia, take the A2 highway towards Montana, then continue on road 81 towards Belogradchik. Once in Belogradchik, follow the signs to the fortress, which is located just outside the town. There is a parking lot at the entrance of the fortress where you can park your car.

Public transportation

If you prefer to travel by public transportation, you can take a bus from Sofia to Belogradchik. Buses depart from Sofia Central Bus Station and the journey takes approximately 4-5 hours. Once in Belogradchik, you can either walk to the fortress, which is about 1.5 km away, or take a taxi from the town center to the entrance of the fortress. Please note that bus schedules may vary, so it's advisable to check in advance.
