Buzludzha Monument and the Rose Valley Guided Day Tour

From Romance to Science Fiction

This was an exceptionally interesting tour. The first part, a visit to the distillery at Rose Valley was interesting but to a certain extent limited because the rose- picking season is over. Martin our guide made every effort to keep us informed about the oil-making process, Bulgarian customs and Thracian history. A highlight for me was visiting the Memorial Church at Shipka Pass - a key moment In Bulgarian history. We all had an enjoyable lunch at a trout restaurant before seeing the amazing “ flying saucer” at Budludzha. It was such an interesting day & Martin was excellent, dealing with different languages, age groups & levels of knowledge. He was always kind, patient & informative. I had a great day Many thanks
