Start your journey from the center of Gabrovo, near the main square (Ploshtad Vasil Levski). Head west on Ulitsa 'Vasil Levski' and continue until you reach the intersection with Ulitsa 'Knyaz Dondukov'. Turn left onto Knyaz Dondukov, and walk until you reach the bus station (Avtogara Gabrovo). From the bus station, take a local bus towards Shipka. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Shipka Monastery stop. From the monastery, follow the signs leading towards Mount Saint Nicholas. The path is well-marked, and you will take a scenic hiking trail that leads directly to the Monument of Freedom. The hike will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace.
