Rising to 2,669 meters, Вазов връх, or Vazov Vrah, also known as Damga Peak, is a majestic summit in the Rila Mountains. The peak is named in honor of the celebrated Bulgarian writer Ivan Vazov. Вазов връх is a popular destination for those seeking moderate to challenging hiking experiences with rewarding panoramic views.The peak itself has a distinctive, imposing, and mostly dome-shaped appearance. Its slopes are steep and rocky, particularly on the western side of the Urdin Cirque. To the west, the slopes gently descend toward the grassy folds of the Little and Big Pazardere plains. Вазов връх acts as a crucial orographic node in Northwestern Rila, connecting the Malyovitsa and Otovitsa ridges.Hiking to Вазов връх offers not only physical satisfaction but also the pleasure of reaching such heights and witnessing the splendor of the Rila Mountains.
