The area is rich in legends, including the tale of 40 Bulgarian maidens who jumped to their deaths to avoid Ottoman capture. Visitors can explore the ruins of ancient settlements, including Roman baths and medieval churches. A small museum in a cave displays archaeological finds and a model of the fortress.Kaliakra is also a haven for wildlife.
