Car
If you are driving, start from the town of Sandanski. Head southeast on the E79 highway towards Melnik. After approximately 8 km, take the exit towards Rozhen. Follow the signs for Rozhen Monastery. The Rozhen Sandstone Pyramids are located near the monastery, just a short 5-minute drive away. You can park your car in the designated parking area near the monastery. From there, it is a short hike to the pyramids.
Public Transportation
To reach the Rozhen Sandstone Pyramids via public transportation, take a bus from Sandanski to Melnik. Buses run regularly throughout the day and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Melnik, you can either walk to the Rozhen Sandstone Pyramids, which is about a 1.5-hour hike, or you can take a taxi to Rozhen Monastery. The taxi ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes and should cost around 10-15 BGN. From the monastery, it is a short hike to the pyramids.
