Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Smolyan. Take the main road (E80) heading towards Rudozem. After approximately 20 km, turn onto the road toward Ravnogor. Continue straight for about 15 km until you reach the village of Ravnogor. Once in Ravnogor, look for signs pointing to Red Rock, which is located slightly outside the village. There is a parking area available near the entrance, and parking is usually free.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, begin your journey in Smolyan by taking a bus to Rudozem. Buses run regularly, and the fare is approximately 3 BGN (Bulgarian Lev). Once you arrive in Rudozem, you will need to take a taxi to reach Ravnogor, which should cost around 15-20 BGN. After reaching Ravnogor, you can either walk to Red Rock or arrange for a local taxi to take you directly to the site, as it is about 3 km from the village.

    If you are in Ravnogor and prefer to walk to Red Rock, head out of the village towards the hiking trail. The path is well-marked and should take you about 30-40 minutes to reach Red Rock. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the trail can be steep in certain sections.
