Getting There

Walking

If you are already in Sinemorets, you can easily walk to Strandzha Nature Park. From the village center, head southeast on ul. Ustie. Follow the road for about 1 kilometer, and you will reach the entrance of the park at number 149. This pleasant walk should take around 15-20 minutes.
Public Transport

To reach Strandzha Nature Park using public transportation, take a bus from the central bus station in Burgas heading to Sinemorets. Buses run regularly throughout the day, and the journey takes about 1 hour 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Sinemorets bus station, exit and walk towards ul. Ustie. The park is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus station, located at number 149. A one-way bus ticket from Burgas to Sinemorets typically costs between $6 and $8.
Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the central area of Burgas. Navigate to the E87 road and head south toward Sinemorets. Once you reach Sinemorets, look for signs directing you to ul. Ustie. Turn onto ul. Ustie, and you will find Strandzha Nature Park at number 149. The drive should take approximately 1 hour 11 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Parking is available near the park entrance. Keep in mind that during peak season, parking may be limited.

Strandzha Nature Park, a sprawling protected area of 1,161 square kilometers, offers a captivating blend of natural beauty and cultural history. Established in 1995, the park aims to safeguard the region's unique ecosystems, biodiversity, and traditional heritage. Strandzha's landscape is characterized by verdant hills, dense forests, and the Black Sea coastline. The park is home to rare plant and animal species, including the eastern imperial eagle and the fire-bellied toad. Its ancient forests, some of the oldest and least disturbed in Europe, showcase a unique blend of plant life. Forests cover 80% of the park's area, with old-growth forests forming 30% of them. These woods are the last remaining temperate forests with evergreen laurel undergrowth in Europe.Evidence of human habitation dates back to the Neolithic period. Throughout its history, Strandzha has been inhabited by Thracian tribes, contested between the Byzantine and Bulgarian Empires, and conquered by the Ottoman Turks. The park also holds historical significance as the site of the 1903 Ilinden–Preobrazhenie Uprising.Visitors can explore the park's diverse hiking trails, discover Thracian sanctuaries and dolmens, and immerse themselves in the region's rich cultural heritage. The park includes five nature reserves: Silkosiya, Sredoka, Tisovitsa, Uzunbodzhak and Vitanovo. Two visitor centers, located in Malko Tarnovo and Gramatikovo, provide information on tourist routes, accommodations, and local guides.Strandzha is easily accessible by car, with well-marked trails for cyclists starting near Sozopol. Spring and autumn are ideal times to visit, offering colorful forests and pleasant temperatures.
