From the center of Shumen, head to the Shumen Bus Station. You can take a local bus that goes towards Veliki Preslav. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Make sure to ask the bus driver to drop you off at the Veliki Preslav stop. Once you arrive in Veliki Preslav, head east on the main road (bul. 'Vasil Levski') for about 500 meters until you reach the entrance of the Preslav Fortress, which will be on your left.

If you prefer to walk from Shumen to Veliki Preslav, you can start from the central square (Ploshchad 'Knyaz Boris I'). Head southeast towards the main road (bul. 'Vasil Levski') and follow this road for approximately 10 kilometers. It will take you around 2 hours on foot. You'll pass by local shops and cafes along the way, so feel free to take breaks. Once you reach Veliki Preslav, look for signs leading to the Preslav Fortress.
