West Park, also known as Zapaden Park, is the largest park in Sofia, Bulgaria, spanning 4.17 square kilometers. Located between the districts of Zapaden Park, Lyulin, Zaharna Fabrika, and Krasna Polyana, it provides a vital green space for the city.The park was designed by the famous Bulgarian architect Ivan Boyadjiev in 1957 and was originally named Hristo Smirnenski after a renowned poet. West Park is divided into two main sections: one with alleys and leisure areas, and another that resembles a dense forest. The Suhodolska River flows through the park, adding to its natural charm. The park's green expanse extends to the Smardana locality, where a lake can be found.Visitors can enjoy various activities, including leisurely walks, invigorating jogs, and picnics.
