Discover more about North Park

North Park, situated in Sofia's Severen district, provides a welcome contrast to the surrounding urban landscape. Created in the 1960s and officially completed in 1985 on the former lands of Vrabnitsa village, the park spans 0.78 square kilometers.Visitors can explore a variety of attractions, including a unique sundial at the forest area's entrance. The park's greenery consists of both broad-leaved and coniferous trees, offering a refreshing natural environment. Asphalt alleys wind through the park, providing pathways for leisurely strolls. For families, there are children's entertainment facilities and restaurants. In the eastern part of the park, a children's playground features socialist-era elements, such as a Katyusha rocket launcher. After a period of neglect following the fall of communism, North Park underwent reconstruction in 2014. This revitalization included the planting of new vegetation, the creation of a man-made lake, and the construction of two themed playgrounds. One playground has a marine theme and is located near the lake, while the other replicates Nadezhda Airport, complete with terminals and airplanes.
