Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria. Use the major highway A1 (Trakiya highway) if coming from the east or A3 if coming from the south. Once you reach Sofia, follow the signs for 'Centrum' (City Center). As you approach the city center, you will want to navigate to the area of Pette Kyosheta. Use GPS coordinates 42.692253, 23.310432 to guide you directly to Russian Monument Square. Parking is available nearby, but be prepared for possible parking fees.
Public Transportation - Train
If you prefer public transportation, take a train to Sofia from your location in Southeast Bulgaria. The Sofia Central Railway Station is well-connected with services from various towns. Upon arrival at Sofia Central Railway Station, you can either take a taxi or use the metro. For the metro, find Line 1 (the red line) towards 'Banishora' and get off at 'Serdika' station. From there, transfer to Line 5 (the purple line) and continue to 'Sofia University' station. After exiting, Russian Monument Square is approximately a 15-minute walk. Follow the signs towards 'Pette Kyosheta'. Please note that train tickets vary in price based on your departure station.
Public Transportation - Bus
Alternatively, you can take a long-distance bus to Sofia. Many buses arrive at the Sofia Central Bus Station. From there, you can catch the metro or a taxi. For the metro, take Line 1 (red line) from 'Central Bus Station' to 'Serdika' station, and then switch to Line 5 (purple line) towards 'Sofia University'. Exit at 'Sofia University' and walk towards Pette Kyosheta, where Russian Monument Square is located. Bus ticket prices depend on the company and distance, ranging approximately from 10 to 20 BGN.
