Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, which is Gabrovo. Head southeast on Route 55 towards the town of Tryavna. Continue on Route 55 for approximately 18 km until you reach the village of Bozhentsi. From Bozhentsi, take the road to the north, which will lead you towards the mountain area. Look for signs indicating the Rayskoto Praskalo Waterfall. The last part of the route may include a gravel road; ensure your vehicle is suitable for such terrain. Parking is available near the trailhead.
Public Transportation
To reach Rayskoto Praskalo Waterfall using public transport, take a bus from Gabrovo to Tryavna. Buses run regularly and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once in Tryavna, look for a local bus heading to Bozhentsi. From Bozhentsi, you will need to walk approximately 4 km to reach the waterfall. Follow the signs and paths leading north towards the mountain area. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the last part of the journey involves walking along natural trails.
Hiking
If you are already in the vicinity of the waterfall and are keen on hiking, there are multiple trails leading to Rayskoto Praskalo Waterfall. Starting from the village of Bozhentsi, you can take the marked hiking trail heading north. The hike is approximately 4 km and can take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Along the way, enjoy the stunning views of the Stara Planina mountain range. Ensure you have enough water and snacks for the hike, and be prepared for varying terrain.
