Car
If you are driving, head towards the Vitosha Mountain area from Sofia. Take the road leading to the Vitosha Nature Park and keep following signs for the Aleko area. Park your car at the Aleko Hut parking lot. From here, you will find marked trails leading towards Konyarnika Peak. The hiking trail starts from Aleko Hut and is quite well-marked. Ensure to wear appropriate hiking gear as the terrain can be rugged.
Public Transportation
To reach Konyarnika Peak using public transport, take bus number 63 from Sofia to the last stop at Aleko Hut. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Aleko Hut, follow the marked hiking trails towards Konyarnika Peak. The trails are accessible and suitable for all skill levels, but ensure you have proper footwear.
Hiking
From Aleko Hut, the hike to Konyarnika Peak is roughly 2.5 km and should take about 1-1.5 hours depending on your pace. Follow the signs marked with yellow and red paint. The trail may be steep in parts, so take your time and enjoy the stunning views along the way. There are resting spots along the trail to catch your breath and take photos.
