Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from Sofia and head towards the Vitosha Mountain area. You can take the main road to the village of Dragalevtsi. From there, follow the signs to the Vitosha Nature Park. Once you reach the park entrance, continue driving until you reach the Aleko ski area, which is a popular starting point for hiking trails. Park your car at the Aleko parking area. From here, the Observation Deck is accessible via a hiking trail. The hike will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on your pace.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Vitosha Mountain using public transport, take the metro to the 'Vitosha' station in Sofia. From there, you can catch bus number 63, which will take you to the Aleko ski area. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time. Once you arrive at Aleko, you can start your hike to the Observation Deck. The hike will take about 30-45 minutes. Be prepared for varying trail conditions and wear suitable footwear.

• Hiking

  After reaching the Aleko ski area by car or public transport, you will need to hike to the Observation Deck. The trail starts from the Aleko parking area and is well marked. Follow the signs for the 'Cherni Vrah' peak, as the Observation Deck is located along this popular hiking route. The hike is relatively moderate, taking about 30-45 minutes, and offers beautiful views of the surrounding nature. Ensure you have water and snacks with you for the hike.
