Getting There

    If you're driving to Vihren, start by heading to the main entrance of Vitosha Mountain, which is located near the village of Dragalevtsi. From Sofia, take the ring road and follow the signs to Vitosha Mountain. Once you reach the entrance, continue on the main road until you hit the parking area at Aleko Hut. Here, you will need to park your car (note that there may be a parking fee of around 5 BGN). From Aleko Hut, follow the marked hiking trail towards Vihren. The hike to the peak takes about 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. Make sure to bring water and snacks for the journey.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Vihren via public transportation, take the metro from Sofia to the station at Vitosha. From there, you can catch bus number 63, which takes you to the Aleko Hut area. The bus ride costs around 2 BGN. Once you arrive at Aleko Hut, follow the marked hiking trail towards Vihren Peak. The hike will take approximately 2-3 hours to reach the summit, so ensure you are prepared with adequate supplies.
