Car
If you're driving, start your journey from Kigali, heading east on the RN1 road towards Bugesera. Follow the RN1 for approximately 30 kilometers. Once you reach the town of Nyamata, turn left onto the road that leads to Ngeruka sector. Continue straight for about 10 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Cyohoha camping site. The site is located in Shami cell, Ngeruka sector, Bugesera district. Upon arrival, there is no entrance fee, but be prepared for any additional costs related to camping amenities.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a bus from Kigali to Nyamata. Buses regularly depart from Nyabugogo Bus Station in Kigali. The fare is typically around 500 RWF. Once you arrive in Nyamata, hire a motorcycle taxi (moto) to take you to Ngeruka sector, which should cost around 2000 RWF. Inform the driver that you would like to go to Cyohoha camping site. The moto ride will take about 20 minutes. Once you reach the site, there are no entrance fees, but budget for camping costs.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Kigali and ride to Bugesera. Start on the RN1 road heading east. This route is approximately 40 kilometers from Kigali to Nyamata and an additional 10 kilometers to Ngeruka sector. Be prepared for a challenging ride, as the road may be busy with traffic. Upon reaching the camping site, no entrance fee is required, but ensure you have funds for any necessary camping provisions.
