Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car within Kibira National Park, you can use the park's main roads to navigate towards Bujumbura. Once you exit the park, head towards the city center of Bujumbura. Follow the signs directing you to the main thoroughfare, Avenue du Large. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l'Indépendance. Turn left onto Avenue de l'Indépendance, and then take another left onto Rue de la Révolution. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach Olive's Garden located at 1146, Bujumbura. Remember to check your fuel levels, as there are few gas stations along the park routes.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, the best option is to take a shared taxi (known locally as 'taxi-brousse') from Kibira National Park to Bujumbura. You can find these taxis near the park entrance. The fare is usually around 1,500 BIF (Burundian Francs) per person. Once you arrive in Bujumbura, ask the driver to drop you off near Avenue du Large. From there, it's a short walk to Olive's Garden at 1146, Bujumbura. Make sure to carry some cash for the taxi fare and any additional costs along the way.

    If you are already in Bujumbura and wish to reach Olive's Garden on foot, start from the city center and head towards Avenue du Large. Walk straight along this avenue until you reach Avenue de l'Indépendance. Make a left turn and continue walking until you reach Rue de la Révolution. Turn left again and walk for about 1 km. Olive's Garden will be on your right at 1146, Bujumbura. This is a pleasant walk but be mindful of traffic, especially on the main roads.
