From Mugamba town center, head east on Avenue des Nations towards Rue du Commerce. Continue for approximately 7 km until you reach the intersection with Route Nationale 1 (RN1). Turn left onto RN1 and drive for about 10 km. Then, take the exit towards Gakungwe. Follow the signs for Gakungwe and continue for about 5 km until you reach the Livingston-Stanley Monument located at G993+628 in Ramba. Be prepared for some rough patches on the road closer to the monument.
Public Transportation
From Mugamba, find a local bus or shared taxi heading towards Ramba. Buses usually leave from the main bus station in Mugamba. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Gakungwe area. The fare is typically around 2,000 BIF (Burundian Francs). Once you arrive in Gakungwe, you will need to walk approximately 2 km to reach the Livingston-Stanley Monument at G993+628. Follow the main road, and look for signs directing you to the monument.
Bicycle
For those adventurous enough to cycle, rent a bike in Mugamba. Start at the town center and follow the same route as if driving. Cycle east on Avenue des Nations, then left onto RN1. After about 10 km, take the exit towards Gakungwe and continue cycling for about 5 km. The final stretch may be challenging but is manageable. Ensure you have water and snacks for the journey, as it can take around 1 to 2 hours to reach the monument by bike.
