Getting There

Walking
From the center of Muramvya, head east on Avenue de l'Indépendance towards Avenue du Commerce. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de la Gare. Turn right onto Avenue de la Gare and walk straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the bus station. Once at the bus station, look for a 'Gishora' bus or shared taxi. The fare is usually small, and the drivers are accustomed to tourists. Inform the driver that you want to go to Gishora Drum Sanctuary. The drive will take approximately 20-30 minutes. After getting off, walk for about 200 meters following the signs to the sanctuary.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Muramvya. Start from the main square, and head east on Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue until you reach Avenue de la Gare and turn right. Follow the road for about 1 kilometer to the bus station. From there, continue on your bicycle towards Gishora. The sanctuary is about 7 kilometers from the bus station, following R.N.15. The road is mostly paved and should be manageable. Look for signs indicating the way to Gishora Drum Sanctuary.

From Muramvya, take a local bus that heads towards Gishora. You can find the buses near the main market. Ask locals for the right bus, as they can guide you. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Gishora, ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to the Gishora Drum Sanctuary. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to the sanctuary, following the main road.
