Walking
Start from the center of Muyinga, near the main market. Head south on Avenue de la Réunification for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with Avenue du Commerce. Turn left onto Avenue du Commerce and continue walking for another 500 meters. You should see signs directing you towards the bus station.
Public Transportation (Minibus)
At the bus station, look for a minibus heading to Gisenyi. These are usually marked with their destination on the front windshield. The fare is typically affordable, around 2,000 Burundian Francs. The minibus will take you to the border at Gatuna, where you will need to disembark and go through customs.
Walking
After crossing the border, continue walking straight towards the town of Mubuga. Follow the main road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the center of Mubuga. Keep an eye out for local signs indicating directions to Mu Gisenyi.
Walking
Once in Mubuga, head west towards the lake. You can ask locals for the exact path to Mu Gisenyi, as it is popular among tourists. The walk should take about 15-20 minutes. You will arrive at the scenic lakeside area, where Mu Gisenyi is located.
