The Serenity of Nice Field: Butare's Hidden Gem

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Butare town center (near the National Museum), head south on Avenue de la Révolution. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenue du Commerce. Turn left onto Avenue du Commerce and walk for another 300 meters. You will pass several local shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for the signs towards 'CP2V+PCV'. After the 300 meters, look for a small path on your right that leads towards Nice Field. Follow this path for about 200 meters, and you will arrive at Nice Field.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Butare. Start from the National Museum and ride south on Avenue de la Révolution for approximately 500 meters. When you reach the intersection with Avenue du Commerce, take a left. Continue cycling on Avenue du Commerce for about 300 meters. Look out for the small path leading to Nice Field on your right after this distance. Follow the path for about 200 meters, and you will reach your destination.

• Public Transport (Moto-Taxi)

  From the Butare town center, you can take a moto-taxi to Nice Field. Simply tell the driver to take you to 'CP2V+PCV'. The journey will take about 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive, the moto-taxi can drop you off right at the entrance of Nice Field.

• Walking from a notable landmark

  If you’re near the Butare Cathedral, head east on Avenue de la Révolution. Walk for about 600 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenue du Commerce. Take a right onto Avenue du Commerce and walk for 300 meters. You will see a path on your right that leads towards Nice Field. Follow this path for 200 meters to arrive at your destination.
