From Praia de Cruz, head east on the main road (CV-10) towards Sal Rei. Continue driving for approximately 10 km until you reach the turnoff for Morro Negro. Look for signs directing you to Cabeco dos Tarafes. Turn left onto the unpaved road leading to the landmark. Be cautious of road conditions, as some areas may be rough. Once you arrive at Morro Negro, there is usually no parking fee, but ensure your vehicle is securely parked.

You can take a local taxi or shared 'aluguer' (minibus) from Praia de Cruz to Sal Rei. The fare typically costs around 3-5 CVE (Cape Verdean Escudos). Once in Sal Rei, you will need to arrange for a taxi or another aluguer to Cabeco dos Tarafes. This second leg of the journey may cost an additional 5-10 CVE. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are heading towards Morro Negro. The journey will provide scenic views, so keep your camera ready!
