Walking
Start at the center of Santa Maria, near the main square (Praça de Santa Maria). Walk towards the beach and follow the coastal road (Avenida de 15 de Setembro) south. Continue walking along the beach until you reach the end of the promenade. From there, turn left onto Estrada de Santa Maria, a road that leads inland. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Pavoacao Velha. Turn right at this intersection. Continue straight for another kilometer until you reach Morro de Areia Nature Reserve, marked by the coordinates 33J3+GHV. You will see signs indicating the nature reserve.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Santa Maria. Start from the main square (Praça de Santa Maria) and head towards the beach. Follow Avenida de 15 de Setembro south along the coast. Keep pedaling until you reach the end of the promenade, then turn left onto Estrada de Santa Maria. Continue straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers. At the intersection with Pavoacao Velha, turn right and continue for about 1 kilometer. Look for the signs to Morro de Areia Nature Reserve at coordinates 33J3+GHV.

Public Transport
From Santa Maria, look for a local minibus (also known as 'aluguer') heading towards Pavoacao Velha. Board the minibus at the designated stop near the main square. Inform the driver that you want to go to Morro de Areia Nature Reserve. The ride will take around 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive in Pavoacao Velha, disembark at the nearest stop and ask locals for directions to Morro de Areia Nature Reserve (coordinates 33J3+GHV), which is about a 15-minute walk from the minibus stop.
