Take the BART train from the Downtown Berkeley station. Board a train heading towards the Embarcadero station in San Francisco. The journey will take approximately 25 minutes. Once you reach the Embarcadero station, exit the train and follow the signs for the Ferry Building. From the Ferry Building, walk northwest along the Embarcadero for about 15 minutes until you reach Pier 39.

Catch the AC Transit bus line 51B from the UC Berkeley campus or any nearby bus stop. Ride the bus until you reach the 'Ferry Building' stop in San Francisco. This should take about 40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you get off, head northwest along the Embarcadero for about 15 minutes to arrive at Pier 39.

If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk, you can start from the center of Berkeley. Head south on Shattuck Avenue towards University Avenue. Continue walking until you reach the Berkeley Marina. From the marina, follow the shoreline path which will eventually lead you to the Embarcadero in San Francisco.
